Having a cup of coffee and watching raindrops falling on brick tiles of a backyard near a waterfall really made me at peace with the world. I traveled to Buon Ma Thuot on rainy days. Yes, it rained all the time when I was there. However, that was yet more interesting since I could have my adventure in a different way that I’ve never tried before. That was just my flashback about a tourist place. OK, let’s hit the road!
40 kilometers to the South from the downtown was Bim Bip waterfall which fascinated me most on this trip. It was a very magnificent and picturesque waterfall from any viewpoint and I nearly spent my whole day in the cool streams. I’d better not talk too much because a picture is worth a thousand words.
I was pretty surprised that this attraction was said not to be developed for tourism because they were afraid the nature somehow would be destroyed. This place can’t be found on Google Maps but I will show you how easy it is to get to it. Look at the red circle, slow down when you nearly reach it. There is going to be a sign on the left side writing something like “This way leads to Bim Bip waterfall”. Turn left, follow the trail and go straight. To make sure you don’t get lost, ask any local you meet on the road.
This place reminds me of the time I was in Langkawi and I got stuck for hours in a rainforest. This time I got more experience and felt a little bit more confident with going alone into this kind of wilderness.
Admittedly, this trip was very special to me because I already had a couple of rides in the rain. Yet Dak Lak’s attractions were very far from each other so I nearly got wet every time I reached a destination.
I stayed in The Highland House. Not only did it have a good interior design but the first floor also was a cozy coffee shop which was suitable for parties. Moreover, I felt very relaxed with the comfortable bed and fluffy pillow. The owner even took me to a new sight-seeing place together with her younger sisters and friends. She also invited me over for lunch and I had an opportunity to try Ede cuisine such as bitter garden egg soup and salad, pork BBQ and grilled chicken. I felt very content with this new experience and appreciative of the living outdoor activities.
